CHARLES TOWN’S POTTERS FIELD (“Coloured” Grave Yard). Address – South Seminary and Avis Streets. This ninety foot square lot was deeded to the Trustees of Charles Town on December 16, 1836. The lot was to be used as a “potters field and burying place for coloured persons.” A mock burial ceremony was held here in 2006 for Shields Green and John Copeland Jr., since there was no service following their executions.
