22nd Annual African American Culture & Heritage Festival 2014

You are cordially invited to join us for the 22nd Annual African American Culture & Heritage Festival in Charles Town (Jefferson County), West Virginia on 15-17 August 2014. Download the flyer.  The schedule of events includes a Job Fair, Gospel Extravaganza, and Youth Block Party on Friday.  A Kids Workshop and Health Fair will kick off the Saturday festivities, just before the Noon Parade.  The 2014 Grand Marshall is Company B, 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment, United States Colored Troops.  This Civil War reenactment group served as technical assistants during the making of the Academy Award winning movie, “Glory.”  Pony rides and musical groups will be featured on Saturday afternoon and evening.  On Sunday morning, a Niagara Movement Pilgrimage will be conducted at the Murphy Farm (Harpers Ferry National Historic Park), and a Memorial Service will immediately follow at the Curtis Freewill Baptist Church, located on the former Storer College campus in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
